I burned through my entire weekly Grok @Bot allowance in a single day. Not on real work just trying to get it set up and review what it had already done.
I’m already on SuperGrok and X Premium+. When the weekly grant ran out, the “get more usage” prompt in the app directed me to upgrade to Cursor Pro. I did. Cursor Pro and SuperGrok are treated as the same tier for Grok Bot, and the allowances do not stack. I got zero additional Bot capacity. The upgrade felt like it was sold on the expectation of more usage that never showed up.
My desktop stays on and I remote into it, so the always-on cloud computer advantage doesn’t matter much for me. I can already run @Grok Build or @Claudeai Code that way. Claude Code is just easier through its own app. For the tasks I wanted Grok Bot to handle, building the workflows locally is cheaper, more predictable, and fully under my control. No weekly grant that disappears during setup, and no pressure to buy another tier just to keep going.
Grok Bot makes more sense if you don’t want to set up or maintain anything yourself and you’re fine paying for the convenience. The cloud computer, routines, and plugins are ready to go. But the token burn during ordinary setup and review is steep, and the way the tiers and upgrade prompts work doesn’t feel transparent if you already have SuperGrok.
Maybe I’ll give it another try if the included usage increases meaningfully, or if it can actually work with Grok / Grok Build to build and run things on my desktop. Right now it’s not worth it for me.
Anyone else burn their weekly Grok Bot grant during setup, or get the Cursor Pro prompt and see no extra usage?
